John Walsh, Host of America’s Most Wanted, Stars in Witness Justice PSA
Long-time Victim Advocate Lends Support for Increasingly Sought-after Victim Service Organization
Frederick, MD – Witness Justice (WJ) launched a public service announcement (PSA) campaign today starring John Walsh, host of America’s Most Wanted. The PSA, which will be released nationally for television, radio and internet broadcast, is intended to increase awareness of WJ’s unique programs and services and to help raise much-needed funding to assist the growing numbers of victims who turn to WJ for help.
Walsh’s successful career in television and advocacy stems from his personal experience with violent crime. In 1981 his six-year-old son, Adam, was abducted and later found murdered. Walsh used the horror of his personal experience to make America a safer place, and his victim advocacy work has had an indelible impact.
“Victims of crime can connect with one another and get information and the help they need from experts” at WJ, says Walsh. “Healing and justice – it’s what we need, and it’s what we deserve.”
“We are thankful and honored to have Mr. Walsh so heartily endorse WJ,” said Helga West, President and CEO, Witness Justice. “He is an inspiration to so many, a vibrant illustration of how victims can transform trauma into something positive.”
“We feel confident that the PSA will help build awareness of the programs and services we offer and help generate the financial support necessary to sustain and grow them,” West added.
