Awards and Recognition
For our personal and professional commitment to victim services and victims' rights, Witness Justice has received a number of awards, along with recognition from leaders at the national, state, and local levels.
- Selected as a public health resource to be included in healthfinder, the National Health Information Center database supported by the Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (August 2005)
- Called on to conduct two (2) workshops, Effective Media Strategies and Coordinated Approach for Female Victims of Violence, at the National Center for Victims of Crime’s first national conference (June 2005)
- Requested to present at "Taking the Next Step: A National Forum on the Health and Social Impact of Trauma" sponsored by the The Center for Women, Violence and Trauma and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (June 13, 2005)
- In compliance with the Health on the Net Foundation’s Code of Conduct (HONcode) Principles for reliability and credibility of medical and health information on the Internet (April 2005)
- Co-Sponsored the 24th Annual National Forum on Victim Rights (April 2005)
- Selected as recipient of RadioShack StreetSentz Community Grant Program (March 2005)
- Honored as one of 10 Maryland state finalists for the Baltimore Ravens Community Quarterback Award for volunteer service (January 2005)
- Requested to lead a seminar, in collaboration with the National Mental Health Association, on media relations and trauma victims' issues at The National Trauma Consortium's Dare to Act conference (December 2004)
- Presented with the 2,573rd Daily Point of Light Award, an initiative developed by the President's Summit for America's Future to recognize organizations and individuals who have helped meet critical needs in their communities (December 2003)
- Honored with a Certificate of Appreciation from the National Organization of Victim Assistance for presenting a seminar of excellence on crime victims and media relations at its national conference (August 2003)
- Invited to participate in a special, exclusive forum, Responding to People with Mental Illnesses who are Victims of Crime, hosted by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Center for Mental Health Services and the Council of State Governments (June 2003)
- Awarded a Points of Light Foundation scholarship for the 2003 National Conference on Community Volunteering and National Services (June 2003)
- Tapped as one of 50 national leaders to participate in The National Victim and Public Education and Outreach Conference, sponsored by the U.S. Department of Justice, Office for Victims of Crime, to create an effective national outreach strategy for raising awareness and educating crime victims (April 2003)
- Received two (2) Golden Web Awards from the International Association of Web Masters & Designers (2002-2003, 2003-2004)
Witness Justice Professional Consulting Program staff also has a number of public relations awards to its credit, including:

- A PRSA Thoth Award for best radio PSA
